Lizzie Thomas is a NYC vocalist, songwriter, producer, and internationally touring artist known for her soulful storytelling, adventurous arrangements, and captivating vocal artistry. A respected presence on the jazz scene, she has performed and recorded with some of the genre’s most celebrated Grammy Award-winning artists, including Ron Carter, the late Russell Malone, Shedrick Mitchell, Guilherme Monteiro, Dezron Douglas, Wayne Escoffery, and the Harlem String Quartet.

Born in Pittsburgh, raised in the South, and educated at Belmont University in Nashville, Thomas built her reputation interpreting the Great American Songbook with imagination, depth, and emotional honesty. Her albums New Sounds From The Jazz Age and Duo Encounters established her as one of New York’s distinctive jazz voices, earning praise for her musical sophistication, storytelling, and collaborative spirit. She has appeared on renowned stages including NYC’s Birdland, Carnegie Hall, The Cotton Club, DC’s Blues Alley, and international festivals and concert venues throughout Germany, France, Switzerland, Ireland, and the United States.  The NYC Jazz Record named her performances among the best concerts to experience in New York.

In 2025, Thomas unveiled a new chapter of her artistry with Awakening released on her label GODDESS Legacy Records. Recorded at New York City’s legendary Power Station her 8th album introduced nine original channeled songs that expanded her creative voice. Blending jazz, neo-soul, pop and R&B, Awakening explores themes of remembrance, healing, self-discovery, and liberation. Featuring the Harlem String Quartet and a stellar cast of musicians, the album marked Thomas' emergence as a songwriter and producer with a singular creative voice

Thomas continues that evolution with This Is FREEDOM, releasing in 2026. While Awakening chronicled a journey of transformation, This Is FREEDOM embodies the experience of living from that truth. Driven by soaring melodies, Mitchell’s Hammond B3 organ, Monteiro’s electric guitar, powerful bass lines, and emotionally resonant songwriting, the music stretches beyond genre boundaries. It remains rooted in the depth, spontaneity, and soulfulness that have defined her career.

Whether performing beloved standards or original music, Lizzie Thomas brings a rare combination of artistry, emotional connection, and fearless authenticity. Her unconventional work continues to evolve while remaining grounded in a singular purpose: creating music that transforms lives.

“I write songs to help you remember.”

— Lizzie Thomas
